Detox Smoothie Bowl

This detox smoothie bowl is an awesome way to start you’re morning, especially on a warm summer day. They are super refreshing and you can pack in all your supplements to jump start your day. If you need an extra energy boost add some Matcha green tea into your smoothie. This particular recipe is packed with Morniga, a detoxifying superfood.

Since we live in quite a toxic environment I feel that it’s important to include detoxifying superfoods into our daily diets. Moringa has a plethora of pretty incredible health benefits.

Moringa contains 25 vitamins and minerals. Helps our bodies repair damage and heal from the toxins we pick up in the environment. Moringa contains 46 active antioxidants and 36 anti-inflammatories. It gives you a nice energy boost since its packed with B vitamins. Builds up the body’s immune system, balances hormones and promotes healthy liver and kidney function.

I find it amazing that superfoods offer so many healing properties as well as health benefits! I created the smoothie base with blueberries because they are also a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. Another plus is berries are in season right now so they are ripe and delicious. However if you prefer another berry or smoothie base for your smoothie bowl get creative and make what you enjoy!

They are the #1 antioxidant, aid in preventing cancer, regulates blood pressure. Fiber, potassium, folate, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and phytonutrient content in blueberries supports heart health.

A few months ago after some serious dietary changes I began to listen to my body more and choose foods based on what I am craving. Some call it ‘intuitive eating’ which is nice as long as we keep it on the healthy side. After removing refined sugars and focusing on healing my gut, my food cravings got healthier. I crave things like avocados, mangoes, and berries lately. These smoothie bowls are perfect for a warm summer morning and also easy to make for yourself or your family. Its a great way to sneak some veggies like spinach in if you have kids that are picky eaters.

I love the crunch of the granola and fresh berries on top. The granola makes it a little more hearty. This is my favorite granola, overall I am a big fan of the brand ‘Natures Path’. They have been organic since before organic was a big deal. They use clean and simple ingredients which is really important to me. Feel free to use whatever you enjoy.

This recipe is so simple and easy, you can make it for breakfast or a snack.  Smoothies are my favorite way to take supplements.

Remember to add in some matcha for a little pick me up and enjoy!

Sending love always,

Ginger & Greens
