Super simple green smoothie

This is actually my favorite green smoothie base, it’s absolutely delicious and no you can’t taste the spinach if thats what you were thinking! I love to start my day with this super simple green smoothie or have it post workout for replenishing my electrolytes. Its very versatile where you can add other fruits or supplements in and change the flavor to your favorite. I like to add seasonal ingredients like strawberries while they are fresh and ripe!

 

What I love about this super simple green smoothie is its very simple to make and the ingredients are affordable for any budget. Its also great to make the night before if you have busy mornings and of course you can make it into a delicious smoothie bowl if you have a little more time. Smoothie bowls are a wonderful way to add some carbs and make it a more hearty balanced meal.

 

Banana

It is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6. These all contribute to the proper functioning of the body and keeping you healthy.

Spinach

The various health benefits of spinach are due to the presence of minerals, vitamins, pigments, and phytonutrients, including potassium, manganese, zinc, magnesium, iron, and calcium. It is a source of vitamins like folate, niacin, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K, and contains traces of the rest of the essential vitamins.

Hemp Seeds

Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats and essential fatty acids. They are also a great protein source and contain high amounts of vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc.

Turmeric

This root is powerful anti Inflammatory and antioxidant. The properties of turmeric is attributed to one of its components, curcumin. Curcumin not only finds utility in food as spice and coloring agent but also in cosmetics and medicine for its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous properties.

This is a great smoothie base. Feel free to add in any and all supplements that you are focusing on for your optimal health and healing.

Ingredients

1 cup coconut water

1 organic banana

1/2 organic apple

1 cup organic spinach

3 tablespoons organic hemp seeds (or any protein of your choice)

1 tablespoon almond butter

1/8 tsp Turmeric

1/8 tsp Cinnamon

1 cup ice


Directions

Blend until smooth and enjoy!
